Share

Floristry will once again be one of the key elements of the programme for the anniversary edition of the GARDENIA Fair. From 6 to 8 October 2026, in Hall 8, event participants can look forward to a rich programme organised by SITO Poznań. A competition for florists, specialist workshops and three days of floristry demonstrations will provide a space for gaining knowledge, exchanging experiences and discovering the latest trends in contemporary floristry. The programme of events will focus on the topic of sustainable floristry – a key issue for the industry – combining creativity and artistry with a responsible approach to the environment and the materials used.

Floral design competition for florists

One of the highlights of the programme will be a floral design competition for florists under the theme:

‘Sustainable floral design – ethics and artistry’

The competition is inspired by the Japanese art of ikebana and the wabi-sabi aesthetic, which recognises beauty in naturalness, simplicity and imperfection.

Competition entrants will prepare two pieces:

‘The Imperfect Beauty of Autumn’ – a hand-tied bouquet,

‘Chrysanthemum Season’ – a vase arrangement inspired by the art of ikebana.

The competition will take place from 6 to 8 October 2026 in Hall 8.

Entries will be accepted until 15 September 2026.

The official announcement of the results is scheduled for 8 October from 15:00 to 15:30 on the Main Stage in Hall 8.

Detailed information regarding the competition and entry rules is available directly from the organiser – SITO Poznań.

Floristry workshops – theory and practice

Gardenia’s floristry programme also includes two specialist workshops, aimed at those interested in a modern and responsible approach to working with plants and floristry materials.

6 October – “The Florist’s Garden: How to Design Green Spaces in the Service of Sustainable Floristry”

The workshop will be led by Krzysztof Mielicki.

During the session, participants will go through the process of designing a green space – from analysing the site to creating a garden concept that can serve not only as an attractive place but also as a source of floral material. Another key element of the workshop will be the topic of promoting biodiversity and reducing pressure on the environment.

Workshop times: 10.30–13.00

Workshop times: 10.30–13.00

Three days of floristry demonstrations

Floral demonstrations will also take place in Hall 8 throughout all three days of the GARDENIA Fair.

This is a unique opportunity to observe professionals at work, discover a variety of techniques and sources of inspiration, and keep up with the latest trends in the floristry industry. The demonstrations will serve as a meeting point for creativity, knowledge and practical skills.

A detailed programme of demonstrations is available on the SITO Poznań website.

Floristry is an important part of the GARDENIA programme
